Same comments as the other reviewer; one more point -- FREE firewood. Many (not all) provincial parks have free firewood; this being a conservation area, the camp host wheeled us to a bin behind the ranger's home to retrieve abit of firewood. Excellent spacing, grooming, etc. --- EASY commute for our visits with relatives in Missasauga. & St. Catherine's. Will definitely go back!

We love this place; clean, nice facilities, good walk paths & forest setting. (Easy commute to visit grandkids in San Marcos!) BTW, the actual city is Vista -- it's inland from and close to Oceanside, the park is surrounded by the city of Vista. RESERVATIONS are needed nearly year-round; go to San Diego county parks website -- they are nice folks, but hard to get into weekends between April and November, unless you plan at least 2 months in advance!

Nice, quiet place to crash en route between PHX and Calif grandkids. Accepts PA (half-price) Oct-Apr, sure cannot figure out why not the whole year. It seems to be a boater's paradise, folks come with watercraft to launch on the Colorado River. We stayed here in both directions during Apr/May travels to visit the kids.

Good beach-front camping -- on a bluff overlooking the ocean; all primitive sites, adjacent the PCH, so there can be significant highway noise, depending on which site you get. Ocean side sites are $10 more -- worth it (to us) if we can get one; you MUST have reservations to get a decent site -- especially for the sites we can fit into; the reservation system LACKS accurate measurements, so I have a list of sites I know I can fit into with our 35' fifth wheel. We love the beach, and visiting the kids in nearby San Marcos, so this is our choice -- the private parks cram you in even tighter than this place, charge more $$, okay in a pinch.
